Auburn Ark Stables is located in Gelorup. Which is only 10min down the Bussel highway heading towards Busselton from Bunbury. Our stables are on a 137ac of undulating land which is ideal for the training and development of young and old horses alike.
We have a 1230 meter training track which stands up well to all weather. This surface is particularly good in winter as it drains water very well and gives us another option to train the horses on when others may be inaccessible due to the weather.
Our facility also backs onto bush land which is ideal for horses to go for a long walk and relax or have a good work-out thru one of the many fire breaks that we have access to. As we have many youngsters in our stables at any one time we find a great way to mouth the youngsters is to place them into the thick bush lands and have them zig zag thru all the trees. 1st at a walk then progressing at a trot until they have learned to turn and stop.
During the summer months we are only 20min from the beach were we have a terrific surface to exercise the horses on then we can either take them for a long refreshing wade to cool their legs down in the ocean or else we can take them for a swim to help maintain their fitness.
Each horse has access to one of five day yards for a roll and play around or a relaxing snooze. Each of these yards are side by side and are 20m x 10m with a gap between each yard so no horses can fight over the fence.
If any horse needs a freshen up we have at our disposal two large paddocks one is a 20ac and the other is 16ac which allows the horse to roam around and get back to nature. They are put into this environment with two old stock horses whose job it is to keep them quiet.
Other Benefits:

(a) two round yards- for breaking in purposes
(b) six barrier stalls for racing education
Our main benefit is that we are only 15 minutes from Bunbury turf Club. This is a terrific training and racing facility in itself. They offer three training tracks:
(a) SMALL TRACK-trotting and cantering track which is on the inside and goes in a clockwise direction which helps to the horse a bit of diversity in the training regime. This also helps to level out the muscle conditioning of your racehorse.
(b) SAND TRAINING TRACK- this track is carefully manicured by Bunbury Turf Club full time crew. Who manage to have the track in good condition all year around and can be trained on under all weather conditions.
(c) GRASS TRACK(S) - Bunbury also has a grass track to gallop on. And thru out the race season horses are also allowed to use the course proper to maintain the fitness of your racehorse.
(d) COURSE PROPER- All racing and trials are done on this first class facility.
